Kindergarten
Kindergarten classes were first started in 2004 by the Daughters of Charity. The classes were intended as a day care center in the beginning.
Since 2008, the kindergarten school began to be administered by the Sisters of Providence who ran the original Pet Yiey Chee. For 2011-2012 academic year, there are a total of 75 registered students grouped according to age in 3 classes. These classes are held every day from 7:30 AM-3:30 PM, Mondays to Fridays. Kindergarten students are also given a bath and food (lunch, morning and afternoon snacks) during each school day to ensure their nutrition. These expenses are partly supported by a small payment from the parents each month, and the rest of the expenses are supported by the church. Kindergarten students also celebrate Women’s Day in March (by honoring the female members in their family), Children’s Day in June (by engaging in recreational activities outside the classroom), and Christmas holidays in December (where they perform special numbers during the program). |
