Rice Project

Catholic villages in Battambang grows, harvests, and organizes a rice bank for the community. These are in turn managed by Fr. Sophal's office for distribution to different beneficiaries in the community.
Our parish receives monthly rice allocations to distribute to elderly and poor families, to the Welcome Center for the Sick for current patients, for kindergarten students (for daily lunch), and for a weekly feeding in the provincial prison for prisoners. Staff working for the parish also receives a rice allocation each month. A committee composed of church community members deliberates on the appropriate amount received by those who have a monthly allowance. |
