BATTAMBANG: From 19-25 July 2012, a group of 28 Biomedical Sciences students from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore came to interact with the students in Msgr. Tep Im Student Center. Originally the visits were done to teach English, expose and learn about each other’s culture. This year, there was more focus on interactions and building relationships between the groups of students.
Mr. Thach Narin, a Tep Im Center student shared, “I am very happy that they have come to visit us. We are happy to share our culture with them. In our meetings, we come to know each other well, communicate with each other and also get more knowledge about English.”

Abigael Chan, a recent graduate of NTU and a returning visitor shared, “The Cambodians, they treasure relationships very much. The experience has been wonderful.” “The people are friendly to strangers; the kids are adorable, innocent, they very easily touch my heart.” Zhan Hao, another NTU student added.
A community dinner and a small program were held on July 25 to conclude the exchange. The students from the Center presented a canvas which symbolized the friendship between Cambodia and Singapore, one student to another. Poy Borat, a student leader at the center explained the message of the gift; “Wherever you are, wherever you live, you can have friendship. We are not so divided. Together we improve, help each other. Even though we are far from each other, we can keep in touch.”

We are touched by the gesture and we really enjoyed our time together.” Sindhu Aramesh, a student leader from NTU shared.
This is the third year that the cultural and learning exchange program has been running since it started in 2010.
